1957 Chevy Passenger Car Deluxe Heater core.  

All heaters were options in 1957.  The main difference between the deluxe and the standard recirculating heater core is that the deluxe one heats outside air coming into the car while the standard one heats inside air.  In humid weather using outside air for the defroster is perceived as superior to using the inside air.
